David DeVane was born in Atlanta, Georgia. After graduating from Heritage High School in 1992, he attended Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, where he recieved a Bachelor's Degree in music in 1996. While in college, David began attending Hunter Street Baptist Church. He joined the Hunter Street staff as a college intern in 1994, and now serves as a worship leader and minister.

David DeVane married Amber Mays in 1999, and their son, Alex was born in 2005. Together, David and Amber share the love of God, pointing people to Jesus Christ and His saving grace, and encouraging fellow believers.

David loves to spend time with Amber, Alex and their dachshund Leon. Family is important, so going home to Georgia to visit David's parents, brothers, sister-in-law, nephews and neice top the list as well. After that, you will often find David playing golf, listening to music, or going to the beach...esepecially Seaside, Florida. His musical influences include Chris Tomlin, Johnny Cash, Sara Groves, Sting, Lincoln Brewster, Tom T. Hall, Diana Krall, The Dave Matthews Band, and many others. He also loves to try new restaurants - Birmingham favorites include Brio Tuscan Grill, Dreamland BBQ, Standard Bistro, Green Valley Drugs, Pablo's, and of course, Krispy Kreme.
